With more than 15 years in the nonprofit sector, Rebekah Silverman brings a unique blend of experience as a senior fundraiser, communications writer, and executive-level administrator. She excels in writing and communications and built her career supporting the start-up and growth phases of small- and mid-sized organizations.
Rebekah Silverman began her career in the nonprofit sector as the Development Director and then Chief Operations Officer at Growing Home (Chicago, IL), a food justice-focused job training program for adults with employment barriers where she founded the organization’s development department and oversaw development of Chicago’s first USDA-certified organic farms. Before this, she served as editor and managing editor for various small press publishers with a focus on fiction and poetry. With an ear for compelling stories, Rebekah distills clients’ missions to their core and her practical attitude helps clients make straightforward plans and set achievable goals. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Writing from Oberlin College. Current and recent clients include Meals on Wheels Foundation of Northern Illinois, FamilyFarmed, Experimental Station, and Ravinia Festival.
