With an energy and enthusiasm for building the strength of the nonprofit sector, Anne Summers brings 25 years of nonprofit leadership, fundraising, strategy development, board development, and grantmaking expertise to her clients. She is skilled at leveraging the power of planning, relationships and data to design solutions and deliver results that strengthen organizations.
Anne believes that development is a door through which organizations build their community brand and strengthen their relationships with stakeholders. As a consultant, she helps organizations maximize their fundraising by building effective plans, ensuring best-practice strategies, creating strong systems and benchmarks for success, supporting them through learning and change.
She previously led the Wisconsin-based Brico Fund, bringing a unique donor/foundation perspective to her consulting work. Working in the arts, environment, community engagement, and social justice communities, she has a broad perspective of and experience working with organizations at different scales.
Her experience in fundraising and building a culture of philanthropy highlight her strong belief in the power of relationships and the important role donors play as partners in advancing an organization’s mission. Anne has a keen interest in the sustainability success of small and mid-sized organizations, recognizing they often think they cannot afford professional consulting services.
An active volunteer, Anne serves on the Boards of Directors for Love Wisconsin, Harbor District Inc, and the Milwaukee Chamber Theatre and is an active member of Professional Dimensions, where she also serves on their Charitable Fund Board. She resides in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Anne has an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University and a BA in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She and her husband Gary live in Glendale, Wisconsin.
